Day 44

  • We finished covering the last bumper in fabric and started painting them. We have 4 of 8 sides painted

  • We cut and milled the mounts for the extra bearings for the turret

  • We made a vibration isolator for the camera mount

  • We ordered LEDs

  • We finished most of the Bill of Materials

  • Drivers practiced more

  • We finished and sent out our newsletter

  • Programmers re-programmed the aiming software to rotate the camera directly on the turret directly rather then the servos

  • We turned down more collector end caps on the lathe


Main Achievement: Programmers also adapted the shooter aiming code to use motor pulsing for fine control

Day 25

  • We ordered our sticker paper
  • Richard Tallman from Dell came and visited our shop and we told him all about our program. He promised support and brought along two servers and a battery. We also set up a presentation so he can bring other companies in and help get us more sponsors!
  • We worked on editing our chairmans award, our business plan, and our team overview
  • We reserved our spot at Duel in the Desert and are super excited to attend that.
  • We milled most of the collector plates
  • We welded more of the frame
  • Programmers experimented more with the encoders
  • Animators worked on their schools more
  • We turned down our nubby bolts on the lathe

Main Achievement: We finished turning all the wheel spacers down on the lathe

Day 24

  • Animators kept animating and did general work on the animation
  • Programmers finished their encoder and it works!
  • We helped the Bit Buckets with their Vision software
  • Started welding our sub frame and our idler wheel mounts
  • We finished writing all our name tags and they look adorable!
  • We worked on milling pieces for our frame
  • We turned down our roller end caps on the lathe
  • We started turning wheel spacers on the lathe and made 8 of the 12 that are needed
  • We received our gearboxes!
  • We replaced the shafts on all of our gear boxes

Main Achievement: We planned out our bumpers and now need to buy the materials so we can make them
