We did not win, but we thought we would share this anyways
Day 40
- We finished our shooter hubs
- We loctited our wheels and motors and re-attached them to the frame
- We grinded the hex on the shooter so we can attach the shooter
- We welded the shooter back channel
- Programmers started making wires prettier, they flashed the final jaguar, and started wiring the remaining motors
- We finished the gearbox for the collectors
- We finished putting fabric on two out of four bumpers
Main Achievement:We finished the website!
Day 35
- We worked on the safety flyer
- We worked on our Teacher of the Year Award, Business Plan, Team overview, and the Dean’s List Award
- Members from the Robo-Knights came to our shop to use our Lathe to make gearbox shafts and bushing and bearing cups
- We made a CRUSH-bot cookie cutter so one of our parents can make cookies for our Feb 21st Presentation
- We milled and welded the hex pieces
- We designed and machined our battery mount
- We mounted our turret motor, and OUR TURRET SPINS!!!!!!!!
- We tested and then redesigned our drive for the collector motor.
- We figured out how to mount our bumpers and mounted one of them!
- The animators finished the space ship
Main Achievement:We attached almost all of our electronics onto the e-board
Pre-Kickoff / kickoff
Build Season Day 5 and 6
Day 5
- The programmers reached their goal of getting the CRio to find the camera within the first 15 minutes!
- Nathaniel helped Luke figure out the practice field bridge design, and some of the bridge pieces are cut out
- Joe helped design a turret for us!
- Tested prototype shooter, it doesn’t quite shoot like we want it to but we’re working on fixing it.
- animators kept practicing
- bought spirit supplies so we can start making our give aways tomorrow!
- We didn’t quite finish the hoops because we had to modify them but we have 2 back boards left to mount and then they will be done! We ordered the rims and nets and hopefully they will be here this weekend!
Main Achievement: Getting our prototype shooter finished!
Day 6
- Hoops are finally done!! We are just waiting for our rim to be delivered!
- Our bottle caps came in today for our buttons and we squished 1000 of them!
- We started making name tags for our team to wear at competition
- We finished gluing flowers to the barrettes for our team image
- Animators started on concepts and story boards.
- The programmers accomplished more of the image processing
- We ordered our free stuff from FIRST choice
Main Achievement: Our shooter worked even better!! Our average distance when sitting on the ground is 18 feet.
